I’ve played guitar since I was 7 years old when my mom taught me a
few notes on her old 1930’s Gibson L-00 which I still own.The rest has
been self taught through many years of effort. Playing guitar and looking
for my place in this world lead me down many wrong paths that nearly
killed me. I was so lost until Jesus rescued me.
Born again in January 1981, I was completely and permanently
delivered from all addictions and bondage. Jesus filled me with the Holy
Spirit June of that year. Since that day
I’ve always had a passion to win
souls for Jesus.
Immediately the Lord started giving me songs to glorify His name. I go
and play them anywhere the Lord opens a door. My songs and style
include different genres from blues to folk and rock while retaining an
old school vibe.
My nick name has always been Blackie since I was 6 years old. God
gave me the name BLAXE from a dream on 10-29-2019 and the
scripture Jeremiah 51:20. It is a combination of my last name Black and
my guitar (axe).
I produce my own music at home with the computer and Logic Pro
software. Drums, bass, keys and accompanying instruments with my
own vocals.
And now I’m honored and thankful for Michael D’Aigle and his ministry
on Youtube.com@lightwaves for inviting me to share my music with the

BIO: What started out as a hobby has grown into a music career! I'm a born again Christian, ex-con ex-drug addict, etc. I started publishing music in 2009. Since then I have released 11 albums and two EPs.
In 2015 to be distinguished from all the other Jeff Schmidt recording artist I became Jeff Schmidt Band.
We have seen 4 songs charted. Alpha & Omega charted 9 times. Ants twice, Praise His Name twice and White Horse once. According to Radio Stats in the last 28 days we received 1.52 radio spins/plays daily average.
"Psalm 51" was written because growing up Lutheran I loved singing this every month. This is a different original melody. Blues side.
"Get Happy" is simply an encouraging word in an R & B vibe. Trust in the Lord.
"Praise His Name" it is fun to play this peppy rock piece on guitar! And a very good idea!

"Symphony No.1 in C Major 2nd Movement" Proof that Sci-Fi & Classical Music are meant to be together. (actually it's life & classical music but lets have fun)
